Friday 12th July – Day 20 (Last!)

Task 27 (restaurant and bar design awards) – edited the breeze free canopy design to ensure maximum coverage of the space and looked at how the canopy interacted with our cube design.

Thursday 11th July – Day 19

Task 25 (restaurant and bar design awards) – discussed layouts with team via email and received drawings from Andrew Humble with proposed back to back layout and the appliance specifications.

Task 26 (restaurant and bar design awards) – edited the Farmiloe building plans in Sketchup to decide on best location for the cube in the site.

Wednesday 10th July – Day 18

Task 24 (restaurant and bar design awards) – Sent drawings to restaurant and bar design awards team and suppliers. Received feedback including request for detailed drawings and dimensions for the worktop from Quartzforms supplier. Designed table/lamp units to go around the box.

Tuesday 9th July – Day 17

Task 23 (restaurant and bar design awards) – continued with renders for drawing package to send to design team in the British Library until 8.00

Monday 8th July – Day 16

Task 22 (restaurant and bar design awards) – creating visuals and drawings to send to the rest of the design team, showing plans, sections and elevations for approval.

Friday 5th July – Day 15

Task 21 (Kipling) – created more cut files and cut out Kipling logo and additional stage parts on the CNC machine and arranged them for spraying.

Thursday 4th July – Day 14

Task 20 (Kipling) – created cutting files for the stage of the display and cut out all of the components using onion skin cutting technique, sanded down some of the rough edges and arranged parts for assembly.

Wednesday 3rd July – Day 13

Task 18 (Kipling) – learned how to use ArtCAM to create cutting files for the CNC machine, created tool paths with specific tool bits in file.

Task 19 (Kipling) – sent cut files to “FORMAT-4 profit H20” CNC machine, set up sheet on machine, turned vacuum bed on, turned extraction on, turned safety on and cut the Kipling rooftop shapes out.

Tuesday 2nd July – Day 12

Task 17 (Kipling) – designed the MDF cut-outs for the tops of the flats. Arranged the pieces on sheets to save material wastage and ordered the materials from the suppliers (30 sheets 18mm MDF)

Monday 1st July – Day 11

Task 15 (restaurant and bar design awards) – make and print a set of visuals to take to the meeting with the clients at 2pm.

Task 16 (restaurant and bar design awards) – business meeting with clients at Liberty café. Jubilee line closed so slightly late. Discussed layouts and showed our design proposals.
